DIAMOND LASHAY BURLESON

Graveside services for Diamond LaShay Burleson, 2-month-old daughter of Stanley Earl Burleson II and Laura Lea Sanders, Lawrence, were Monday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, while sleeping at home.

She was born July 2, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, of the home; two brothers, Wesley Tolbert and Dominic Kennedy, of the home; paternal grandparents Stanley Earl Burleson and Daisy May Davis, Kansas City; maternal grandmother Kay Ellen Sanders, Lawrence; and great-grandmother, Ernstine Lawson.

KATHERINE LEE LEWIS

Memorial services for Katherine Lee Lewis, 77, Baldwin City, will be Thursday at the Community of Christ RLDS Church, Bonner Springs at 11 a.m. Mrs. Lewis died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital of Overland Park.

She was born April 1, 1925, at College Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer Andrew and Letha Maude Johnson. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1943.

She married Harold A. Lewis on Jan. 23, 1951. He died in May, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Samual and Lester Johnson and three sisters, Zora Orme, Margret McKinley and Martha Cade.

Survivors include four sons, John R. McNelis, Niles, Mich.; Allan J. McNelis, Berryville, Ark.; Stephen P. Lewis, Overland Park and Rodger C. Lewis, Wellsville; two brothers, Birt Johnson, Skidmore, Mo. and Delmer Johnson, St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Leona Brown, Clarinda, Iowa, and Ruth Wilson, Council Bluffs, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be left to the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.

NELLIE MARIE MILLER

Funeral services for Nellie Marie Miller, 77, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Mrs. Miller died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa.

She was born Dec. 31, 1924, at Richmond, the daughter of Eli and Mae (Alexander) Brockus. She moved to Ottawa in 1970 from Rantoul. She attended rural schools in the Martin School District.

She was a member of Rantoul Community Presbyterian Church.

She married Ernest Alva Miller at Ottawa on March 27, 1940. He died Nov. 2, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Clifford Brockus, Eldon Brockus and Thomas Brockus; one sister, Martha Heckman and three infant grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Donald Miller, Ottawa; a daughter, Carolyn Turley, Baldwin City; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be until service hour. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Lane Cemetery.
