Anyone planning to enter the Maple Leaf Parade must complete an entry form and return it to Lloyd Lam. Participants are numbered for ease in organizing the parade and for the announcer. For more information about completing the entry, call 594-3629.

Overbrook to feature

quilt show

The Santa Fe Trail Quilt Guild, Overbrook, is having a quilt show Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 quilts will be featured. The show will be at the Overbrook Elementary School, located on U.S. Highway 56 at Overbrook, watch for sign. There is a $1 entry fee for the show.

Faculty members to

perform at Baker

The Baker University Dept. of Music will feature two of its faculty members Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in McKibbin Recital Hall. Susan Buehler, soprano, and Trilla Lyerla, pianist, will perform with special guest artists, Ken Prewitt, tenor, and Marie Miller, pianist, from Emporia State University. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.

Erin Jansen chosen

Citizen of the Week

Erin Jansen has been selected Citizen of the Week at Baldwin Elementary School. Jansen, 9, is in Nancy Parr's fourth grade class. Her parents are Bo and Susan and her siblings are Courtney and Christy. Her friends include Myriah, Chelsy M., Megan and Perry. She likes to ice skate, dance, ride horses, act and play Gameboy.

schedules reunion

The Baldwin High School Class of 1977 will have its 25th year class reunion at the Black Jack Cabin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

ECKAN Agency to

distribute food

The ECKAN Agency will distribute food items to eligible Douglas County commodity participants in Baldwin City on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the American Legion Hall, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Bring a box or sack for food items.

Retreat for women

with breast cancer

"Close to Your Heart," a retreat for women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, will be Oct. 26 and 27 at the Light Center, near Baldwin City. Featured speakers will be Amie Jew and Farhang Khosh. Activities will include sculpting with clay, massage, energy healing and healthy meals. Sponsored by the Cancer Institute and the Light Center. Vinland fair board

to have elections

The public is invited to participate in the annual election of members to the Vinland Fair Board at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Vinland United Methodist Church.

Three of the nine board positions are elected annually for three year terms. The regular business meeting of the board will follow the election.
