Mens Soccer

Barry Cummings, a junior from Glasgow, Scotland, was named Heart of America Athletic Conference player of the week for the week of Sept. 22-28. Cummings scored two goals, including the game winner against Avila.

Womens Soccer

The Baker University womens soccer team played host to William Jewell on Saturday. William Jewell defeated Baker 3-1, leaving the Wildcat's record at 4-3.

Meghan Braun, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., scored Baker's only goal, and Jen Weigel, a senior from Kansas City, Kans., made the assist.

The next game for the Wildcats will be against Newman University in Wichita on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Cross Country

The Baker University men and womens cross-country team traveled to Louisville, Ky., for the Greater Louisville Invitational on

Saturday.

Leading the way for the nationally ranked womens team was Blair Spencer, a freshman from Alma, with a time of 19:56.71 in the

5,000-meter race. Jenny Schultz, a senior from Sun City, Ariz., came in immediately behind her in 29th place, running a time of 19:59.82.

Leading the way for the mens tem was Matt Hallauer, a junior from Holton, with a 28th place finish and a time of 26:45.81 in the 8,000-meter run.

The next meet for the Baker cross country team will be Oct. 11 in Baldwin City for the Wildcat Invitational.
