Lawrence City Band
to perform concert

The Lawrence City Band, under the direction of Robert E. Foster, conductor, will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday at South Park Gazebo in 1100 block of Massachusetts Street in Lawrence. The title of the concert is "Our Own Fourth of July Concert."

The band will perform also July 10 at 8 p.m. at South Park Gazebo. The title of the concert is "Annual Children's Concert." This special concert will feature Chris Lair, soloist, on "Tubby the Tuba," with Bob Newton narrator and will include the annual Children's March through the park.

president's list

Molly Mundinger, daughter of Tom and Brenda Mundinger, Baldwin City, has been named to the spring 2002 president's list at Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Mo. Mundinger is a 1999 graduate of Baldwin High School and is a senior mathematics major. Students listed on the president's list have been enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and earned a grade point of 3.7 to 3.84 on a 4.0 scale.

Local teacher
attends seminar

Anita K. Faddis attended the High School Hospitality Teachers Forum session hosted by Oklahoma State University. The Hospitality Business Alliance (HBA) provided professional development for its high school teachers through a series of Summer Institutes.

"I feel fortunate to have attended HBA's summer institute," Anita Faddis said. "It is important for all hospitality teachers to continue their professional development so our students get the best education possible."

Early church service
available at Worden

Worden United Methodist Church now has an 8:15 a.m. service. Sunday school time is 9:30 a.m. and morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Worden UM Church is located 3 1/2 miles west of Baldwin Junction on U.S. Highway 56.
