Baker sees four points cost Wildcats two games
Four points doomed the Baker University men to a pair of losses last week. First, Culver-Stockton beat the Wildcats 73-69 at home Thursday, then Benedictine topped BU 78-74 Saturday.
The Wildcats battled back against Benedictine after trailing 44-34 at halftime. With just 27 seconds left, BU's Scott Johnson hit a pair of free throws to tie it at 74. A tip in and a layup sealed the win for the Ravens.
"The team played well the second half and came back from a major deficit," said coach Rick Weaver. "Aaron Schwerman was effective inside and we had our opportunities to win."
Schwerman had 22 points, Johnson had 20 and Brandon Scarborough 11. Against Culver-Stockton, Schwerman had 17 points and five rebounds.
The losses dropped BU's record to 5-14 overall.
