In a surprise announcement Tuesday, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) jointly said the newest “preferred alternative” for a new U.S. Highway 59 is 300 feet east of the present U.S. 59.
Council doesn’t support possible LKM lawsuit

Gingerbread lanterns help local organization

Miniature snowmen, tiny trees and little pine cones litter the table as the discussions and ideas coming from the group of women surrounding them fill the room and mix with the aroma of gingerbread that’s already present. The scene can only mean one thing. The gingerbread lanterns for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Gingerbread Festival and Auction are nearing completion. For the seventh year in a row, a group of Baldwin women are entering gingerbread items for the holiday festival and auction.
