Baldwin Bird Club
schedules meeting

The Baldwin Bird Club will meet today at 7:30 p.m. in the activity room at Baldwin Elementary School. Dr. Calvin Cink will present a slide program on "Shorebirds of the Maine coast." The public is welcome to attend these meetings.

Mum sale scheduled
at Baldwin Library

Friends of Baldwin City Public Library will have their Annual Mum Sale Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. 12 p.m. Proceeds from the sale are used to purchase books and videos. Come early, the best ones sell quickly.

CROP Walk to be
held Sunday

The CROP Hunger Walk will be Sunday with registration beginning at 1 p.m. at Vinland Elementary School. Walkers begin at 1:30. Bicycles, roller blades and skates are not allowed but parents may pull young children in a wagon.

There are three routes walkers may choose that vary in length. There will be a common table of finger foods and fruit at the Vinland School for returning walkers. Anyone wishing to contribute food can call Ava Cummings, Jane Baldwin, Ives Chapel or First United Methodist Church offices and leave a message.

The walkers are sponsored through donations to CROP and funds are used in the U.S. and in world hunger programs. Twenty percent of the funds are used in Baldwin and other area communities for hunger and emergency need programs.

Roberts is
Citizen of the Week

Shannon Roberts is Citizen of the Week at Baldwin Elementary School. Shannon, 11, is in Donna Reed's fifth grade class. Her parents are Paul and Lori and her sister is Sidney. She also has a dog, Jake. Her friends include Allyson, Madison, Sarah and Laura. Her hobbies are swimming, playing outside and activities at church.

Wellsville Days
set for Saturday

Wellsville is prepared to celebrate this weekend.

The city will sponsor Wellsville Days this Saturday along Main Street.

Activities begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K and 1-mile run and go throughout the day ending at 7 p.m. with the Pass the Hat Concert featuring three bands, One Man Band, Color Blind and the Dale Reese Band.

Other activities include a parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m., a children's auctioneering contest and a pedal pull. Crafts and food booths will also be open all day.
