The Baldwin High School volleyball team kicked off a promising season with a 3-0 start in Eudora. The Bulldogs took part in a quad at Eudora as they swept the competition which included Eudora, Basehor-Linwood and Bonner Springs.

"We definitely have the potential to play with anyone right now," said junior Katie Martin.

The following quad would prove to be much more detrimental to the team's record. The Bulldogs were swept in Wellsville with a 15-1,15-11 loss to Topeka-Hayden, a 15-12,12-15,15-11 defeat at the hands of Paola along with a 15-10, 15-5 loss to host Wellsville. The quad dropped their record to 3-3.

They would get a confidence boost in the form of a quad at Bonner Springs. To start off the Bulldogs beat Atchison 15-8, 15-12, along with a 15-6, 15-10 stomping of Tonganoxie, and a 15-6, 15-5 pounding of Bonner Springs. These wins helped the team bounce back as the record vaulted to 6-3.

The Bulldogs hosted the Baldwin Invitational on Saturday. Schools that participated in the tournament were Bonner Springs, Gardner-Edgerton, Olathe Christian, Osawatomie, Oskaloosa, Paola, Perry-Lecompton and Wellsville. The Bulldogs won three but also dropped three en route to a fourth place finish in their Baldwin Invitational.
