Chamber of Commerce has new officers
The Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be turning to its members for direction this year.
"My agenda is what the members' agenda is," newly-elected president Bill Harmon said. "I just kind of look at myself as the spokesperson."
The new Board of Directors consists of Harmon of A&H Air Conditioning and Heating as president, Krystal Williams of Hedges Real Estate as first vice president, Diane Niehoff of Three Sisters Inn as second vice president, Connie Deel of Baker University as secretary, Ron Skaggs of Baldwin State Bank as treasurer and Zach Barker of Barker Family Pharmacy as membership officer.
Harmon said he knows issues like electricity and water would probably be important topics the Chamber of Commerce would address.
"Basically, we're just going to find out where the membership would like the leadership to take them," he said.
Much of the Chamber of Commerce's success, Harmon said, not only depends on its board of directors, but its members as well.
"Everybody volunteers their time," he said. "In the past we've had great volunteers."
Harmon said the volunteer work will have to continue to see good results from the Chamber of Commerce.
"We hope to get as much help from the members as possible," he said. "It's only as good as the amount of effort put into it."
