June 27, 2001

Supplemental general transfers were approved Monday night to finalize the 2000-01 school district budget.

The Baldwin City Board of Education approved monetary transfers of nine categories, including drivers' education, transportation and special education, to help zero out several accounts before the end of the official school year.

The school board also approved a motion to use Manhattan Baystone Financial of Manhattan, Kan., to help close on the land on lease purchase agreement July 20. The agreement is for the 92 acres the school district has agreed to purchase for future facilities.

If Manhattan Baystone Financial will not be able to work out the land on lease purchase agreement by July 20, the board agreed to use Baldwin State Bank as the second option.

After meeting in executive session for 35 minutes, the board approved the resignation of Baldwin High School FACS teacher Joyce Collins and the summer employment contracts of driver's education teachers Ted Zuzzio and Mike Curran; summer school teachers Scott Adams, Julie Anderson, Amy Berg, Mike Berg, Penny Brecheisen, Kathy Browne, Susan Case, Patty Flory-Evans, Helene Gesink, Sarah Harris, Lori Hawk, Rhonda Hitchcock, Charles Holvoet, Jana Jorn, Jane Miller, Danita Price, Julie Schrum, Burdine Taylor, Alicia Thomas and Gus Wegner; driver's education paraprofessional Tony Zuzzio; Marion Springs Elementary paraprofessional Cathleen Kivett; technology aide Casey Morford; maintenance Joyce Tallman, Diane Kennedy, Melanie Pelot and Mandy Smith; painters Pam Hermes, Connie Wright, Pam Anderson and Jessica Wright.
