Kansas Pioneer Music
is today's program

Kelly Werts shares Kansas Pioneer Music at the Baldwin City Library Activity Room today at 10 a.m. during the summer reading program. Werts looks back to his own great-great-grandparents, who settled in the country where the Kansas state song, "Home on the Range," was written. The audience can sing and clap to these songs that were originally intended for family enjoyment on the prairie.

Ives Chapel UMW
meet for breakfast

The Ives Chapel United Methodist Women will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 for breakfast at the home of Joy Uthoff. Avis Hobson, president, will present a devotion and lead the business meeting.

Ive's Chapel to
host Bible School

Ive's Chapel United Methodist Church, 1018 Miami, will host Vacation Bible School 2001 June 25 through 29 from 9 a.m. to noon. "Way To Go! Good Neighbor

Tours" is the theme. Bible School is for youth Kindergarten through Middle School. The week will end with a field trip to Forest Park Camp in Topeka.

Parents should call the church office, 594-6555, and leave a message for registration or return the registration slip received in the newsletter.

Homeless concerns topic
for guest speakers

The Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center and the Lawrence Coalition for Homeless Concerns invites Douglas County residents to Community Forum 2001, a discussion about local, state and national homeless issues and services. The forum will be from 3 p.m. 5:15 p.m. today at the Community Health facility, 2nd floor meeting rooms, 200 Maine, Lawrence.

Arts Council announces
annual meeting

The Baldwin Community Arts Council has scheduled its 2001 annual all-member meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. on Monday in the garden on the east side of Osborne Chapel on the Baker University campus. New officers will be introduced and the group "Attune," directed by Don Mueller, will provide entertainment.

Members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert, place settings and lawn chairs. Meat dishes and beverages will be provided by board members.

Bible School to be
at Vinland UMC

Vinland United Methodist Church, 1724 N. 690 Rd will be having Bible School Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme will be "Way To Go Tour" and youth Kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to attend.
