There was a wild roller coaster ride last week for the Baldwin High School Bulldogs. They went way up with two big wins, one over Osawatomie Tuesday to lock in the No. 4 sub-state seed and an even bigger one Friday at Louisburg.
Girls win three in final tune-up

With three straight wins last week, Baldwin High School’s girls head into this week’s sub-state at home on a roll. BHS easily dispatched Osawatomie 56-20 on Tuesday, downed Eudora 49-44 on Thursday in a make-up game and beat Louisburg 43-31 on Friday.
Boys blast Burlington in tourney opener

Baldwin High towered over its sub-state first-round opponent Burlington Monday night. The Bulldogs took advantage of the height advantage and blasted the Wildcats 74-54.
Hinton paces BHS wrestlers

In the end, it was Baldwin High School junior Witt Hinton who made the biggest splash at the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday. Along the way, he set records, placed fifth and did all that with a severely injured hand.
