Yearbook staff
to work at Sonic

The Baldwin Junior High yearbook staff will be working from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Sonic in Baldwin to raise funds for this year's yearbook. All tips received will be given to the yearbook staff.

Scholarships available
through BPW

The Business and Professional Women's Organization has scholarships available to students currently in college or those in the work force planning to continue their education. For more information, a copy of the instruction packet and application, contact Lisa Robertson at 594-2911. Applications must be completed and returned by Dec. 31, 2001.

Palmyra Township
to meet Friday

Palmyra Township will meet Friday at the Township Hall at 7 p.m. The meeting day was changed because of Christmas.

Twombly named
Citizen of the Week

Alex Twombly has been named Citizen of the Week at Baldwin Elementary School. Twombly, 8, is in Danita Price's second grade class. His parents are Matt and Terri and his siblings are Quinn, Connor and Isaac. His friends include Garrett, Tucker, Asher and Wesley. His hobby is basketball.

Pioneer 4-H Club
has meetings

Pioneer 4-H Club had its October meeting at the home of Larry Wilson. New officers were installed: Cody Wilson, president; Tom Wilson, vice-president; Morgan Trowbridge, secretary; Kristine Rudman, treasurer; Kalli Keen, county council representative for two years and Ted Jehle for one year. Age representatives are 9 to 11-year-olds, Stacey Rudman; 12 to 14-year-olds, Kelli Harris and 15 and older, Kalie Harris.

After the meeting, there was a haunted hayrack ride.

The club met for the November meeting at Watkins Museum in Lawrence. Steve Jansen spoke about the history of Lawrence and of Kansas. Cody Wilson, president, called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by favorite pie. Visitors were Luke Rhodes and Joshua Emery.

The December meeting will be at the home of Cindy O'Bryon at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23. The group will carol at Vintage Park followed by a potluck supper and gift exchange. Cookie plates will be prepared and taken to some friends.

P.E.O. gathers for
Christmas open house

The P.E.O. Christmas Open House and Coffee was held in the home of Judith Tanner. Susan Butell, Becky Hayes and Margaret Hayes prepared refreshments. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 8 at the home of Alice Ann Russell.

Fit and Fun Club
has meeting

The Fit and Fun Club had its annual Christmas dinner at the Wellsville Community Center. December birthdays were Bob Lawson, Ed Booth, Norma Boone, J. W. Tomlinson, Yvonne Thorne and May Broers. Keith and Marie Richards had their 37th wedding anniversary.

New officers are Ed Booth, president; Carol Fleming, vice president; Vanita Chandler, secretary and Jean Matile, treasurer.

A New Year's party will be at the Wellsville Community Center from 7 to 11:30 p.m. The next meeting will be Jan. 10.
