Baldwin City Taco Bell no longer in business

August 29, 2001

The Baldwin City Taco Bell closed its doors last week, possibly for the final time.

Michelle Monroe, spokesperson for the Taco Bell of the Plains, said the fast food restaurant, located at 126 Ames St., closed for business Aug. 20 because of a lack of business.

The Taco Bell building will be up for sale.

Even though the sign on the door says temporarily closed, Monroe said it might not open up again as a Taco Bell.

"It could potentially be another Taco Bell if someone buys it and wants to open a Taco Bell," Monroe said. "But that might not happen."
