Viola Sieg

Funeral services for Viola M. Sieg, 88, Ottawa, were Saturday at Dengel & Son Mortuary. She died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000.

Mrs. Sieg was born July 9, 1912, the daughter of Harland and Emma (Becker) Sweet, in WaKeeney. She attended grade school in WaKeeney and high school in Hill City. She moved to Wellsville in 1942 and Baldwin in 1950. She moved to Ottawa in 1997.

She married Earlston A. Sieg on May 25, 1930 at Hoxie. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1991.

She was a waitress and cook for Audra's CafBaldwin City, for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include: three sons, David L. Sieg, Hutchinson; Harland M. Sieg, Independence, Mo.; Darrell L. Sieg, Ottawa, and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Mary Smith and a grandson, Joe Sieg.

Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City. The family suggests memorials to Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University and Midland Hospice, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
