William “Bill” Loren Jeffress
Funeral services for William "Bill" Loren Jeffress, 67, Baldwin City, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Mr. Jeffress died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Emmett L. and Myrtle Evelyn Stickler Jeffress. He graduated from Wichita North High School. He received his certification from Brunswick Mechanical School.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Jeffress was employed by Jayhawk Bowling Supply from 1995 to the present. Prior to that he worked at Bluestem Bowl in Emporia, Hillcrest Bowl in Lawrence, Valley View Lanes, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Frontier Lanes in Wichita.
He was married to Alice Roller on June 30, 1967 in Wichita. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son William Scott Jeffress of Baldwin City; a daughter, Deborah J. Angleton, Wichita; a brother, James Jeffress, Wichita; and four grandsons.
Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Youth Amateur Bowling Association and may be sent in care of the mortuary. Friends may call after noon today until service time on Thursday at the mortuary.
