James L. "Jim" Warren
James L. "Jim" Warren, 56, Parsons, died March 19, 2000 at the Labette County Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 29, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Maurice Warren and Louise (Frazee) Warren. He grew up and attended schools in Wellsville, graduating from high school in 1961.
He owned and operated an auto repair business in Lawrence. In 1984, he moved to Las Vegas where he worked as a cab driver. In 1993, he moved to Parsons where he operated a lawn mowing business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellsville.
Mr. Warren married Linda L. Greaves on June 26, 1961 in LeLoup. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Carlburg, Neodesha, and Heather Belch, Las Vegas; a brother, Merle Newland, Wellsville; a sister, Sharon Eneihen, Rantoul; his stepmother Letha Warren, Wellsville; a step-sister, Connie Ingle, Lawrence; his maternal grandmother, Thelma Frazee, Ottawa; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother who raised him, Laura Warren, and his father, Maurice Warren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home in Wellsville with Rev. Gail Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City. The family will receive friends at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home from 7 to 8 tonight. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 today. Memorial contributions are suggested to a fund in Jim's name and may be left at the funeral home.
