Explore the past today at the library
Step back in time as Amy Berg leads an exploration of a dinosaur trunk from the University of Kansas' Natural History Museum today. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. will be a hands-on time for preschool and kindergarten ages. At 10:00 a.m., all ages are invited to learn about dinosaurs and listen to a few good dinosaur books. Starting at 10:30 a.m. will be a hands-on time for older children.
Storyteller Rosemary Cutrer will tell folktales at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the library, accompanied by autoharp, guitar, washboard and rhythm instruments.
OU announces spring honor roll
Patty Flory, Baldwin City, has been named to the Ottawa University Spring 2000 Dean's Honor Roll, which recognizes those students who have earned at least 12 credit hours during the semester and have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
'The Music Man' continues run
Baldwin City Theatre's production of Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" continues at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday outdoors in downtown Baldwin. Tickets are $7.50 adults and $5 children. Family night is Thursday, when all tickets are $5 for adults and $3.50 for children. For information call 594-3897.
RWD No.4 to meet Tuesday
Rural Water District No. 4, Douglas County, will have its regular meeting beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room of the district office.
Jaycees to sponsor fireworks display
Fourth of July entertainment, sponsored by the Baldwin Jaycees, begins at 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, at Baldwin High School. Featured attractions will be a live band, games and homemade ice cream. The fireworks display will be at the soccer field behind the high school at 9 p.m. Bring lawn chairs.
United Methodist Women Plan summer salad supper
The Eve Circle and Sarah Circle, United Methodist Women, will be hosting a summer salad supper from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the First United Methodist Church. Donations are accepted at the door.
