Joel Kesinger and Jake Pittenger have been a package since preschool. Monday, the pair signed with Fort Scott Community College to play football and stepped to another level together.
BJHS eighth graders remain unbeaten

It was a busy weekend for the Baldwin High School underclassmen basketball teams with tournaments. All four teams involved made the tourney finals, with the junior varsity boys and freshmen girls winning titles.

The Baldwin school board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Vinland Elementary School gym. Agenda items include discussion of board member districts and review of the board policy handbook.
Council seeks more time to study liquor by the drink ordinance

An ordinance that would allow liquor to be sold in restaurants in Baldwin’s downtown business district remained a draft Monday night, and Baldwin City Council members have several decisions to make before the ordinance is put to a vote.
BHS girls blast past Buffaloes

A prescription for the Baldwin High School girls to get well included two quarters of domination and a return to fundamentals. It worked to perfection here Friday night as the Bulldogs blasted Prairie View 70-41 to erase the memories of a slight two-game losing streak.
Bulldogs down Buffs with scoring, defense

It was one of the best offensive shows of the season for the Baldwin High School Bulldogs here Friday night against Prairie View, but it was staunch defense in the third quarter that really helped pave the way for a 77-59 victory.
