Rural Water District No. 4, Douglas County, will have its regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in the conference room of the district office.
Workday scheduled to
prepare for nativity
Workdays have been scheduled for Saturday and Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. at the Vinland Fairgrounds to set up the Living Nativity. People are still needed in the scene and babies are needed. Contact Jean Moore for information, 594-3568.
First UMW to have
winter holiday party
The First United Methodist Church women will have their winter holiday party at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 in Fellowship Hall. Hostesses will be the Eve Circle. The program will also be presented by the Eve Circle.
Citizens of the Week
Allison Arnold and Matthew Meeker have been selected as Citizens of the Week for the week of November 27 at Baldwin Elementary School.
Arnold, 7, is in Shirley Wright's second-grade class. She is the daughter of Dennis and Teresa and has two siblings, Logan and Sarah. Her friends include Ramie, Myriah, Samantha and Katie. Her hobbies are collecting Pokemon cards, swimming, softball and baseball.
Meeker, 7, is in Helene Gesink's second-grade class. He is the son of Steve and Erin and has two pets, Sassy and Shadow. His friends include Patrick, Tyler, Robbie and Jason. His hobbies are collecting feathers, bike riding and skateboarding.
Citizens of the Week
Brianna Krysztof and Chelsea Turk have been selected as Citizens of the Week for the week of December 4 at Baldwin Elementary School.
Krysztof, 10, is in Nancy Parr's fourth-grade class. She is the daughter of Steve and Lori and has three siblings, Katie, Emily and Michaela. Her friends include Cassidy, Madison, Hannah S. and Amanda. Her hobbies are collecting bells, 4-H, basketball and baseball.
Turk, 8, is in Danita Price's second-grade class. She is the daughter of Gary and Donita and has two siblings, Adam and B.T. and a pet, Molly. Her friends include Lindsey, Megan, Kendra, Sarah and Emily. Her hobbies are basketball and collecting glass Dalmatians.
Chapter CK of P.E.O. met at the home of Carolyn Groves. She was assisted by Merrie Skaggs and Jan Boyd. Delma Hitchcock, president, conducted the business meeting. The program was given by Ivy Hey and her three daughters, Roxann Heffner, Nancy Arnold and Janet Jehle.
The next meeting will be a Christmas luncheon on December 12 at the home of Carolyn Lambert.
Pioneer 4-H club
The October meeting of the Pioneer 4-H club was called to order by Tom Wilson, president. Roll call was answered by standing up and showing Halloween costumes. The club sang "Happy Birthday." Larry Wilson handed back record books and pins were presented. New officers were installed.
